Character
Some would say this old barn was looking a little worn, weathered and rusty. I would rather think of it as having "character."
Character is defined as:
- the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing
- one such feature or trait; characteristic
- moral or ethical quality
Solomon wrote, "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies." (Proverbs 31:10)
And Paul wrote, "Bad company corrupts good character." (1 Corinthians 15:33)
What traits do others see in you? Do they observe noble character demonstrated by kindness, sincerity, love and godliness? Or do they see see bad character demonstrated by greed, hatred, selfishness and ungodliness?
Character is more valuable than rubies according to Solomon. You can't buy it. It's earned by reputation. Because character can be so easily damaged, be sure to protect it with your whole being.
