A Way Through It
Have you ever thought you were the only one in the world struggling with a certain illness, weakness, relationship problem, financial difficulty, bad habit or sinful temptation? You might feel like you are going through it alone or that there's no one you can talk to, but there are two truths I want you to take to heart.
1 - others are going through the very same struggle
2 - you don't have to face it alone
The writer of Hebrews tells us that Jesus faced every kind of test or temptation that we might have and since He walked about in a human body He understands our weaknesses and frailties. Because of this, you can talk to Him about ANYTHING you're going through -- He knows and He cares.
Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin! (Hebrews 4:15)
You are not any less of a Christian if you face tests and temptations. In fact, God places some of them before us to grow and mature us in our faith and dependence on Him. He even promises that with each one we encounter He also gives us all we need to face them, endure them and come out on the other side.
No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Some tests are like short tunnels where you can see through to the other side. Sometimes the end of the tunnel is a great distance away. Just remember that He is faithful. He will make a way through it.
