Caution: Hazardous Curve

You've seen the street signs: Curve Ahead. Slow Down. Decrease Speed. Winding Road. Danger Ahead. And the list goes on. The Department of Transportation (DOT) wants us to know in advance of the potential for catastrophe if we fail to heed the warnings.

Likewise, it should go without saying that standing too close to the curves pictured here could result in the loss of life or limb. But just to be sure, the Okefenokee Swamp Park posted signs all over their property about the dangers of getting within striking distance of an alligator. These are wild creatures and not pets. Disobey the rules and there are dire consequences.

God loves you. I hope you know that - not because you deserve it but because He made you and desires an intimate relationship with you. Yet, we all have a nature that wants to push limits and throw rocks at alligators, so He set in place Ten Commandments to help us understand right from wrong. These laws were not meant to punish us but to protect us.

However, no one could fully obey. No one could ever be righteous based on these laws. No one was good enough to go to heaven. Everyone missed the mark continually. As a result, Jesus came to man... because man couldn't go to God. It's the greatest love story in all of history.

Like the road signs that keep you safe in your travels, the Bible is our roadmap for living. And we all individually must decide when we come to that "Y" in the road to go left or go right. Follow Jesus or reject Jesus. Choosing the right road promises eternal rewards. Choosing the wrong road has dire consequences. Don't let Satan send your life barreling out of control into a hazardous curve. Let the love and light of Christ Jesus guide you down the straight path to a heavenly home.

Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
