Reflecting Our Environment

This old cabin in Great Smoky Mountains Elkmont area is being restored back to the way it was originally built... including the red window frame (at least, that is what I've been told). That caught my eye of course, but so did the glass which was reflecting its surroundings on this early October afternoon.

We too reflect that which surrounds us. The Bible tells us:

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” (1 Corinthians 15:33)

But it also reminds us that...

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17)

Flee from those who will drag you into the mire or the pit. You don't need negativity, gossip and activities that pull you away from a closeness with God. Rather, surround yourself with people who will tell you the truth, hold you accountable for your actions, and help develop within you high, moral, godly character.

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22)
