Flourish Like a Flower
The variety of gorgeous flowers found both in gardens and in the wild, in warm climates and cold, and in rich soil as well as poor fascinates me. Unfortunately their beauty is too often short-lived. The Bible compares human beings to a flower in the field. Anyone with children or grandchildren realize that you just blink and suddenly they have grown and you wonder how you too got so "mature" in age.
As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. (Psalm 103:15-18)
Time passes quickly! But, while our mortal lives are fleeting, the thing that is consistently true and never ending is the love and righteousness of the Lord toward His children.
But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. (Psalm 103:17-18)
But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. (Psalm 103:17-18)
How do you recognize a child of God? --They are the ones who remember His promises and keep His commandments. So, since our time on earth is limited, let's makes the most of it by living (blooming/flourishing) to glorify our Father in heaven because we will have an eternity to receive our reward for faithfully following Him for our short sprint on earth.
