A Black & White World

I just had to try this image in black and white. You know, it amazes me how beautiful an image can be and how much more one tends to focus their attention on the various tones and details when a scene is portrayed in black and white.

We live in a world of black and white as well, but sometimes the details on which we focus prevent us from appreciating the subtle and often distinct tonal qualities associated with our cultures, traditions and lifestyles which were intended to join us together in a beautiful tapestry of humanity.

Here's the truth according to scripture. Mankind -- red and yellow, black, brown and white -- were ALL created in the image of God and came from the same genetic lineage. It was God's plan for us to live in harmony with Him and with each other. He didn't create us to focus on the differences, but join our hearts, minds and spirits in unity to praise God and live for His glory in joyful relationship with one another.

Not convinced? Then check out some of these "one another" verses:

Be at peace with one another. (Mark 9:50)

Love one another: just as I [Jesus] have loved you, you also are to love one another. (John 13:34)

Outdo one another in showing honor. (Romans 12:10b)

Live in harmony with one another. (Romans 12:16)

Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. (Romans 14:13)

Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. (Romans 15:7)

Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. (2 Corinthians 13:11)

Through love serve one another. (Galatians 5:13b)

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2)

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. (Ephesians 5:21)

ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS. (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
