Patient Endurance

Water does not typically carve out a hole this size in a matter of hours, days, weeks, months or a few short years. Yet, bit by bit, little by little, the stone has been chipped away. This is an example of patient endurance.

Patient endurance is a quality that we obtain through God's strength. We certainly need it because sometimes this road of life is long and full of hazards and immense stress. Patient endurance pleases God, bears witness of His goodness, helps us to show kindness, and makes it possible to joyfully give thanks in all things.

Patient endurance helps us as we await that eternal inheritance in heaven one day. So, no matter what you are facing today please know that there is a far greater blessing waiting on us one day that cannot compare with even your very best day ever here on earth.

Paul writes, "Live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light." (Colossians 1:10-12)

Sometimes we are like that rock that God is chipping away at little by little as well -- making us into the person we were created to be for His glory. I'm so very glad that He patiently endures with me as well!
