Little Things Matter

It's a small world. Yes, there are a lot of BIG things in this world, but they too are made up of little things like cells, molecules, atoms, protons, neutrons, electrons, etc. We ought to pay close attention to the small things because they have a significant impact on the larger whole.

Jesus is recorded by Matthew as having talked about the mustard seed on at least two occasions. Mustard seeds are usually about 1 to 2 millimeters (0.039 to 0.079 in) in diameter, yet the bush that grows from it can reach an average mature height of between 6 to 20 feet with a 20-foot spread, although exceptional plants can reach 30 feet tall under ideal conditions. Who would have thought such a small seed could have such great potential?!

Jesus said:

“The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32)

“Truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)

A little seed makes a HUGE plant. A little faith has HUGE possibilities. In fact, Jesus indicated that "nothing will be impossible for you." How can that be? Because the faith we have is in a God whose power has no limitations except to be true to His character.

In the Bible we read:
“What is impossible with man is possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)

For nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37)

Take what little faith you do have and turn it over to God. Trust Him with it and believe impossibilities can be possibilities for His Kingdom.
