A Precision Team

Watching the Blue Angels fly in formation is a sight to behold. These pilots are experts at handling these multi-million dollar aircraft. They fly this diamond pattern with tight precision at incredible speeds with only 18 inches separating them. It should go without saying that there is no room for error in practice or during a show. The team MUST listen and follow orders precisely from the "Boss" -- their Commanding Officer.

Just as one mistake can be costly with this group, the lesson is true for people in teams of all types. One slight mistake, inappropriate action or reaction, misunderstanding or rogue act can effect your life and the lives of others for years, and in some cases, decades. If you are a Christian then you MUST follow the orders given by the Lord Jesus Christ, our "Boss." Stepping outside those boundaries has consequences.

Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commands." (John 14:15)

What is the command that Jesus tells us to follow?

"This is my command: Love each other." (John 15:17)

When you demonstrate your love for Jesus by loving others them we all fly in tight precision together in harmony and unity. When we demonstrate a lack of godly love for one another then the team no longer functions in synchronicity and someone is bound to get hurt.

In fact, you may even do great harm to God's reputation. Jesus prayed earnestly to His Father that we "may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17:23)

As Jesus followers, let's work together in harmony and unity, listening to the "Boss" and loving one another so that the world will believe in Jesus too. You would not want to hinder someone from knowing Christ, would you?
