Up from the Grave He Arose

It's early Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and several other women go to Jesus' tomb to finish anointing His Body with spices because there had been no time with the start of Sabbath on Friday. But, the stone that had covered the entrance to the tomb has been rolled away and Jesus' body was is not there! Two men (angels) suddenly appeared to them wearing dazzling robes, and the women were terribly frightened and they bowed their faces to the ground.

Luke 24:5-9
Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.” Then they remembered that he had said this. So they rushed back from the tomb to tell his eleven disciples—and everyone else—what had happened.

The story goes on and Jesus reveals Himself over the next 40 days to over 500 people. HE IS ALIVE! Death could not hold him. His resurrection displayed His power over sin, death and hell.

The song, "What a Beautiful Name" proclaims it well. Give a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQWFzMvCfLE

Now, we too should do as the women on that glorious morning -- rush to everyone and tell what happened! It is not just good news, it's the BEST NEWS that anyone can hear -- you and I can have eternal life and an inheritance in heaven.

1 Peter 1:3-4
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.
