One Way

Have you ever accidentally found yourself traveling the wrong way on a one way street? It can be a frightening experience. The truth is that many people ARE traveling the road of life in the wrong direction and may not even realize it because the crowd appears to be heading in the same direction.

Jesus warns that the crowd may not be right.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)

There is a right way... the one and only way to eternal life with God the Father, and that's Jesus. In this inclusive society, the gospel message is still one of exclusivity. Dr. Steven J. Lawson put it this way...

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—period, end of paragraph, end of discussion. To this truth, the Bible has a “zero tolerance” policy for any equivocation outside of its borders.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

The Apostle Peter affirmed that message (speaking of Jesus) by saying, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Call me narrow-minded, but I am on that narrow road and I will not be taking any side-trips on my journey to my heavenly home outside of those appointed by God Himself. I hope you are walking along with me as you start this new year.
