The Boneyard

The desert is a harsh place for plant, animal or mineral. But even amidst the "boneyard" of dead trees, there is life... some which you will only see after the rain nourishes the parched land.

Imagine if you were to go for a long period of time without life-sustaining water in this environment. Your body would ache and you would crave that sweet liquid like nothing else in your life. That is how we ought to approach our need and desire for the Lord.

The Psalmist wrote, "You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water." (Psalm 63:1)

Is God a water fountain of convenience for you or is your relationship with Him one of a daily, desperate, desiring need?
